Easter Sunday at Harvest Baptist
We are finally enjoying some spring-like weather in western KY (although we would not be shocked if there was a snowflake to be seen before winter is gone). Spring time is a time of new life! In nature, the trees, grass, and the flowers wake up! In people, we have renewed energy as we start opening our windows and pick the first of the daffodils. There is no greater way to be reminded of the new life of Spring than to remember the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ!
The resurrection of Christ from the dead is the cornerstone of our faith. Without the resurrection, there is no such thing as “eternal life” or “heaven.” As the Apostle Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:12-19, “if” Christ did not conquer the grave and come back to life, “your faith is in vain” and you “are yet in your sins” (vs. 17). But, thank God, Jesus DID come out of the grave, just as He said. Jesus said Himself, many times, that He would rise again from the dead. I love what Jesus said to John, “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death” (Revelation 1:18). Jesus also said in John 14:19, “Because I live, ye shall live also.”
Many people around the country will go to church on Easter. If you live in our area, our church family invites you to worship the risen Christ with us. Our service begins at 10:30am on Sunday, March 27. Bring your entire family. I hope to see you there!
